Hugh Jackman, Sexiest Man Alive, and Straight. Really! I Mean It! Really!

On the day that People Magazine announces that Hugh Jackman is The Sexiest Man Alive, I find a little article in New York Magazine’s Entertainment’s Online site, entitled “Can ‘Australia’ Finally Convince Moviegoers that Hugh Jackman Isn’t Gay?”

Huh?  Well, I guess I don’t get out nearly enough because I didn’t know there was some sort of ongoing question/issue about whether or not Jackman is gay.  Apparently there is, as 20th Century Fox, makers of Autralia, is going out of its way to describe Jackman as macho through a slew of euphemisms. 

I know he’s married – hell, I was married and I am a huge fag – and I know that Jackman has said he is straight and really doesn’t care about it all.

I also know Fox must think it is a big deal NOT to have a faggot play the leading role in their new adventure film, Australia, opposite co-star with Nicole Kidman.  Perhaps Fox ought to get Kidman to vouch for Jackman’s sexuality – she has some previous experience in this area.

But all that aside, let’s just concentrate on People Magazine and the fact they count Jackman as the sexiest men alive.  No argument here.

Myabe he paid for them to say that he's the sexiest man or maybe just because he's a very well known actor his hard work may have earned the credits for media just to say so.. Um, I don't think people question his sexuality solely on his hotness. I think people question his sexuality because he burst out showtunes shamelessly with hip action that would make every gay (and str8) men swoon with either envy and or lust.

FINALLY!!! Someone else realizes it! I gotta say, its the first time in a really long time I have agreed with the decision for Sexiest Man Alive since Mel Gibson. Congrats Hugh Jackman! Though I will say this... he has steep competition with Ryan Reynolds and Daniel Craig in my book.

When they chose major insecure homophobe ahole Mel Gibson years ago I gave up but Finally! a sexiest man alive choice I can relate to. I've always thought Hugh was very very sexy because of his great chest, smile and personality (but esp. chest).
