Prince, the Artist Formerly Known as Sane, Bashes Gays in the Name of God

Prince, the man who made millions and millions off of androgyny and gay-friendly sexuality, has found God, and in that, found a new wellspring of intolerance for gay people.

The newly converted Jehovah’s Witness (you know, Michael Jackson’s “church”) has some interesting words for all us sinners:

“But there’s the problem of interpretation, and you’ve got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn’t. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum you’ve got blue, you’ve got the Democrats, and they’re, like, ‘You can do whatever you want.’ Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right… God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, ‘Enough.’"

My, my, my.  What’s Prince going to do with his wardrobe when the next Armageddon comes?  I know several drag queens that will be more than happy to start the bidding on it right now.

Now, Perez Hilton's site offers a late follow-up to this story, in which Prince's camp appears to deny this story.  No quotes from Prince directly, and no point-by-point refutation of the issues in this statement, and no point-by-point statement from Prince as to exactly what he does believe regarding gay people. 

So, forgive me if I hold my belief in obeyance as to the idea that Prince did not, indeed, say this crap.

Oh please! If Sir Hasbeen Elton John said no to gay marriage, you think you would get something different from Her Majesty Prince? I'm just waiting for Madonna to say no to gay marriage - or Cher, or Barbra. By the way, where are our porcelain goddesses when we need them?
