I find it funny that they are showing Obama here as an advocate to gay marriage when he has stated on the record that he opposes gay marriage. He is for civil unions...but doesn't believe in gay marriage.

I understand the rights issue by many. However the whole issue of it being called a marriage is so petty. That is the same as a gay person saying they want to be called straight so that they can feel equal. They are just words people!
First go back in history and find the reason for a marriage.
It was for purposes of lineage. The biological unity of a man and woman for the sanctity of their offspring.To give the children the name of thier biological father.
This is not the case here. So therefore it should be under a different title. And if the people on the left consider themselves "progressive" well then why keep the same old name of "marriage" as a unifying factor?
