Fundraiser For Richmond Jane Doe This Thursday
If you live in San Francisco or are going to be visiting the Bay area on Thursday, February 5, you should swing by Lookout—DJ Gray & Lady are presenting Les Ladiez Nite, a fundraiser for the 28-year-old lesbian known as Richmond Jane Doe who was gang-raped on December 13 in Richmond, Calif.
According to news reports, the woman had gotten out of her car, which had a rainbow sticker on it, when four men approached her and started taunting her for being a lesbian.
One of the men struck her with a blunt object and sexually assaulted her with the help of the other men. They then forced her into her car and took her to an abandoned building where she was raped again.
After the attack, the men took off in the victim's car, taking her wallet and leaving her naked outside the apartment building.
Last month, police arrested three men—31-year-old Humberto Hernandez Salvador, 21-year-old Josue Gonzalez and 16-year-old Darrell Hodges (who is being tried as an adult)—and charged them with gang rape, kidnapping and carjacking. An unidentified 15-year-old was also arrested and faces similar charges.
While Salvador, Gonzalez and Hodges all pleaded not guilty to the charges in a hearing on January 21st, the juvenile has yet to enter a plea.
Again, for those of you who want to support Richmond Jane Doe, the fundraiser is being held at San Francisco's Lookout, which is located at 3600 16th Street, and the event is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Winners of a raffle will be awarded prizes included merchandise autographed by Margaret Cho.
