New PSA: Lucy Lawless on Prop 8
Lucy Lawless narrates a PSA that discusses the differences between marriage and domestic partnership. Many people believe that domestic partnership is equivalent to marriage. This is not true. No on Prop 8 supporters urge the California Supreme Court to abolish the discrimination of Proposition 8.
This piece was written by Jennifer Medvin and directed by three-time Emmy nominee, Karen Wilkens. "I wrote this piece because I feel like I still have to answer the 'What is the difference between domestic partnership and marriage?' question on a daily basis,” says Jennifer. "I'm hoping this video will help to open the eyes of those on the proverbial gay marriage fence."
According to Jennifer, getting Lawless and Tamargo to participate made sense. "It was fantastic that Lucy Lawless and Eva Tamargo agreed to narrate for us," says Jennifer. "They are both strong supporters of the LGBT community."

O Ye Exalted, Heterosexually-Identified Families,
How we long for Your Beauty, your Charm, and your Grace.
You ARE what we WISH we were:
GOOD ENOUGH CHILDREN & PARENTS -
A Good Enough Family.
You see, we're not,
So naturally we marvel at
Your Dignity, your Virtue, and your Nobility.
Wow.
We also marvel at
Your Civil Rights,
Your Taxation WITH Representation,
And your Civic Duty to your Country.
Just don't expect ANY OF US to feel
One ounce of "duty" to the IRS
When it's time to pay YOUR taxes.
Our country's laws HATE Our Families.
=============================
WE HAVE NO MORAL NOR LEGAL OBLIGATION TO THE I.R.S. -
EQUALITY TAX REVOLT

I have to agree with this here. We're expected to pay our taxes, taxes that not only go to support a payroll for politicians that don't support us (and yet have a "wide-stance" in the public restrooms), taxes that go to help people on welfare to feed their children when some states won't even allow us the right to adopt. So a country that chooses to give us half (maybe if we're lucky in some states two-thirds) the rights expects us to pay 100% of our taxes?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the Declaration of Independence not say that "all men are created equal"?
And another thing I'm so tired of hearing this crap about how we "gays are disrupting the sanctity of marriage." How are we disrupting the sanctity of marriage when we're not the ones getting divorced yet?
