Limbaugh Should Get Anal Poisoning

Why do people listen to -- and respect -- ThRush Limbaugh? The man is ridiculous. The only other person that makes my skin crawl listening to (other than our last president) is Ann Coulter. But last week, Limbaugh once again went too far. On his radio show, he commented on conservative-leaning UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown's genuine praise of Barack Obama during the G20 summit. Brown thanked Obama for helping change America's standing in the world and the global viewpoint of our country (following the bang-up job done by Bush). Brown said Obama has accomplished much in the first 70 days in office and was grateful for his leadership during this economic downturn.

Limbaugh, like so many other right-leaning conservatives, can't stomach this sort of gratitude. Instead, they have to ridicule and rip down any support of our President. Obama was handed a failing economy, two wars and so many other problems from the Bush administration. But apparently any effort to make America a better place are clearly ridiculous, at least as much as Limbaugh has the capacity to see. What am I talking about? Why do I care what ThRush has to say? Following Brown's comments, Limbaugh said if the British PM keeps "slobbering" over what Obama says he'll "come down with anal poisoning and may die from it."

Now, does this comment assume that Brown is so far up Obama's ass that he'll become diseased? And what is "anal poisoning" anyway? What a moronic comment to make -- especially when so many of ThRush's listeners -- including most of the GOP -- kiss his ass. The man is a jerk -- and I ask again, why do people listen to him? Why would he wish death upon a world leader who is our ally -- especially when Brown seemingly went along with George W. Bush before Obama? Whatever the answer, let's hope that Limbaugh is the one who actually gets anal poisoning -- and that he takes the likes of Coulter with him -- at least then he'll have a valid excuse to take all those pain pills he is so fond of.

I've seen this before. When aging straight men, especially ones that suffer from morbid obesity and have the handicap of a face like Rush's, they tend to lash out in anger in ways that defy logic. Obama may have been "handed a bad economy," but people in his own party didn't help much. Limbaugh is incontrovertibly the most successful radio personality in the history of the nation, by any measure. By ratings, by the money he makes, by his perennial success, by the amount of attention he attracts from all over the world, by the number of radio stations which carry his show, by the price he's able to charge for ads and endorsements, you name it. Even The Obamateur raised Limbaugh to his level when he bitched about him.

Brown's recent praise of Obama is to balance out his bitching after The Obamateur's blundering during Brown's recent visit to the White House. Remember those DVDs he gave Brown after he had someone run down to Wal-Mart to buy them? What an amateurish mistake and display of a total ignorance of state protocol. Brown is legally blind and Obama's giving the man DVDs? It shows how desperate the UK is to lick Obama's ass in spite of being (unintentionally?) insulted by him just a month earlier.

No, what we've gotten is another four years (on top of Bush's eight) of blundering idiocy in the White House. That alone will give Limbaugh more than enough material for his show for the next 3 years and 9 months.

Amazing is the amount of comment this article has generated. One person said we should do away with the party system, but if you look at the volume and intensity of the comments here it is obvious the party is here to stay, at least for the time being. Perhaps division is their entire purpose?

This opinion is part of the problem. If you want to take Rush Limbaugh to task for childish comments, you should not sink to his level. Name calling for children and people who do not have an argument. I agree that Limbaugh was out of line with his comments but you hardly encourage debate of the matter with childish remarks.

And for those who are defending Limbaugh, let me point out a few things. First off, yes, there is the free spreach issue, but you need to remember something very important: With free spreach comes RESPONSIBILITY. Mr. Limbaugh is using a nationally syndicated radio as his platform. This show often gets written up in the foriegn press. He has a responsibility to both get his fact right and not insult foriegn leaders in a very childish manner just because he disagrees with them. I know that when he is called to task for such behavior he tries to hide behind the claim that his show is an 'entertainment' show and not a serious discussion of news events. But he frequently turns around then and claims his show is not entertainment but a serious discusion of the day's events. Which is it? He is well aware of the negative impact his show has had on US foriegn relations in the past so he cannot claim what he says has no impact. The timing of the latest remarks can only come across as an effort to undermine the president's efforts on his current trip. That demonstrates poor taste and poor judgement considering what is at stake here (the economy and help in Afganistan). If he really wanted to be taken seriously, he would have encouraged his followers in Congress to lead the charge against any agreements Obama returns with. And he would have done it with hard facts instead of his usual postering and bluster.

In the end, this is not about partisan politics but about civil behavior. Limbaugh's remarks were crude and inappropriate. And Ari Bendersky's name calling only serves to keep the discussion at that level.

After reading this article's first twenty or so comments, the overwhelming emotion that I feel is disgust. Most of the comments of substance (I use this word loosely) were divisive, immature, and/or ignorant. Both sides of this issue lose credibility because their foci are not on the issue, but rather on bashing the other side. Get over the party politics and focus on what really matters.

I do have to make a few politically charged comments...yes, Clinton's administration loosened some economic policies in order to help less fortunate Americans (which is sinful socialism in the eyes of the rich or the blind [i.e. those who are not upper class yet demonize anything socialist because of extremist views]), which has contributed to the economic crisis; HOWEVER, looking at this in context, the economy at the time was booming, the federal budget was in surplus, and the national debt was decreasing. As soon as the economy became shaky (after 9/11 and the resulting "police actions") it was the Bush administration's duty to tighten up these policies to prevent what we are now facing. Anyone who says that the Bush administration did not know this was coming is full of s***.

Lastly, Obama may be a dangerous man; but, he is no more dangerous than Bush. Obama may be a threat to freedoms that some of us hold dear; but, when compared to the freedoms that Bush took away from America and the shackles he has placed upon its citizens, Obama does not scare me in the least. Bush restricted our civil liberties in the name of security - fine. Bush opposed gay marriage, abortion, and stem cell research because of religious morals - not my cup of tea, but we elected him and knew what he stood for, so fine. What is NOT fine, however, was his economic policies. His disproportionate tax cuts in favor of the upper class citing the benefits of trickle down economics (bulls*** economics *cough*) on top of funding the two wars (I am not knocking the wars exactly, so please do not lock onto that and run with it) has more than doubled the national debt from $4.5 trillion to more than $10 trillion. For anyone counting, the interest alone on that debt amount to more than $1 billion a DAY.
