Trump Delivers Miss Cali Verdict
Hold on to your tiaras: Miss California Carrie Prejean is keeping her crown. Donald Trump, who co-owns the Miss Universe Organization (parent of the Miss U.S.A. and Miss Universe pageants), made the announcement at a press conference in New York City this morning.
Prejean faced the possibility of losing her title after some sexy photos of her surfaced. The whole brouhaha over the pictures was ridiculous. In my opinion, they were no more scandalous than a Maxim magazine photo spread. Trump agreed.
After sharing his decision, Trump took questions from reporters, who, not surprisingly, asked him to share his stance on gay marriage. Trump refused to divulge his thoughts, insisting the press conference wasn't about him and noting that he understands both sides of the issue.
I was actually surprised that Trump, who has never been hesitant to let us know what he thinks about any issue in the past, would clam up about same-sex marriage. Maybe it's even too hot of a topic for him.
His refusal to discuss it made me respect Prejean even more. Hey, I disagree with her stance against same-sex marriage, but she earned my respect for answering honestly when Perez Hilton asked her about it during the Miss U.S.A. pageant. She could have played both sides like Trump did.
Trump did answer a reporter who asked him if Perez would be asked back to judge Miss U.S.A. in the future, saying he'd love to have Perez back. Of course Trump would love to have Perez back—Perez equals controversy and ratings.
For her part, Prejean criticized Perez for having an agenda when he asked her such a politically-charged question during the pageant. That said, she has forgiven him and wants to move on. And, no, she's not a shill for the National Organization for Marriage, Prejean insists, allowing that she had one hour-long meeting with the group.
So where do you stand on this? Did Trump make the right decision? Are you tired of the whole Perez/Prejean feud? And do you want Trump to let us know where he stands on same-sex marriage?
Of everything that came out of the press conference, Trump's refusal to talk about the topic was most interesting to me.

Honesty is the best policy. She spoke her mind and Trump is not going to penalize her for that. As for the pictures Trump sets the rules. What he says goes.

Let me get this straight, Pat Robertson is a monster for his comments on gay marriage but Miss California is some kind of hero for spouting essentially the same opinion?!? What, as long as the messenger is cute and looks like every drag queen's aspiration we as a community must "respect her right to speak" her ignorant opinion? Many of you are so foolish and gullible I'm ashamed to be gay.
At first I didn't care about this story one way or the other. Then Ms. Prejean started LYING every time her mouth was open. She lied when she said she "meant no offense" - go on Sean Hannity's show to oppose my civil right to marry and I'm OFFENDED. She lied when she said she wasn't an activist. She is now employed by a radical right wing-religious political organization to legislatively take away MY right to marry - that's an activist! And now she's LYING about her nude pictures - it's been established most of the pictures were taken within the last year - not when she was 17! To quote Harvey Levin a few minutes ago: "SHE'S A LIAR!"
I'm done with this girl, don't wanna hear another lie from her flapping mouth. She's now moved into Elisabeth Hasselbeck/Sarah Palin territory, which is a self-promoted perpetual victim of the so-called "left-wing" media. Boo hoo. Please go away, Carrie! We're so sick of you.

I still can't figure out why insisting that an entire class of people be treated as less than amounts to a matter of "personal opinion" or an "honest answer" to some g/l/b/t people.
What if she said marriage is only for those of the same race? Would that be admirable for being "honest"?
And the people who intone how marriage is only between a man and a woman block other aspects of gay rights all the time, (despite their denials that they do so,) such as on DADT Don't Pursue, ENDA, Hate Crimes, even civil unions in a lot of cases.
It's bigotry she expressed. Now, you might not want to state it exactly that bluntly in the media as a spokesperson for the movement, but that's what it is.

For me, the principal means more than the opinion. Either you believe in freedom of speech and freedom of opinion or you don't! Which is it?
She should have been judged on how well she articulated her answer, not for her personal opinion. I would have given her low points for using the phrase " in my country", in her answer, other than that, her answer was essentially the same and the majority of californians, the president and his cabinet. Perhaps, perez hilton should try standing up and "punish" the president and his crew for holding the same opinion.
The principal of freedom of opinion must hold true for everyone or no one is safe from persecution!
Enough with the hate speech people...it doesn't help our cause.

I agree that everybody has the right to speak freely, however that does not mean speech is totally free. If Miss California chooses to exercise her right to free speech, she should also accept the consequences. To praise her on a gay site is offensive at best.

Honestly I could give a you know what if she keep her crown or not. Yes she was obviously lyeing about the wind blowing and being unaware of the exposure. I have a deeper concern for Mr Perez. What in the world was he thinking? How could he have ever considered that a beauty pagent would be a good platform for a question like gay marriage? He has done more harm than good in my opinion. Yes it gets people talking about the issue. But, as we have seen. If your young, beautifull and have a va jay jay in this country you have power and the sympathy of the nation. Of course Trump is going to support her. He's one of the most notorious skirt chasers on the planet. And, She looks just like his ex Marla Maples. Any way my point is Hilton Peres comes across as a no talent gossip queen with an agenda to stardom. Someone who stirs up controversy for his own notiriety. Do we really want him to represent gay causes?

i agree with Ryan's comment. How do we know if she was honest or not??? As a miss America , she represents for the beauty of a country face, the inner beauty and the outside beauty. She does not have it all. She does not deserve the crown. Most people of America think she is a stupid person who had a stupid answer. If she was born and raised in California, where the majority of gay people reside. She should know that , at least she should understand gay people, and love them. Why did she gave a very stupid answer in front of million audiences. I think she should loose her crown.
Gay people do not choose to be born gay, just like black and white and yellow people can not choose to be born at their races. God teaches us to love people unconditionally, not to hate or to judge them, why people hate and judge gay?????

Ok, so she was honest in expressing her viewpoint and opinion when asked a question, that's respectable. I must say weather I agree or disagree with her opinion, I honor that.
So, she posed for some pictures that some people found to be scandalous. Ok, really whats so wrong with that? Remember that there was scandal around some of the worlds great works of art during the course of history.
But, what gets under my skin is simply this, the Miss. California organization paid, in some part for her to get her tits enlarged.
How many years have the beauty pageant people been telling everyone "beauty is not just on the outside, it's the total package. That's why we do the question and answer segment, so we can get a fell for each contestant's personality and inner beauty"?
If that's the case, why in the hell would you fell the need to give you're states "contestant"(if that's the correct word)money to go get her tits done before competing on the national level? In my honest and humble opinion, that's why she should have here title removed.
Personally I believe that to be a true beauty pageant title holder such as Miss. California, Miss. Universe, Miss. USA or what have you, it should be a natural beauty and not enhanced by a doctor. What's next, humanoid robots competing and winning in the Miss. America pageant?

Isn't it amazing when this WHORE's turn to be judged, she demanded that people used 21st century standards to judge her. After all, in this day and age, pedophiles are still allowed to be priests, fornicators are still allowed to be pastors, what's wrong with a lil nip here and a piece of ass there? WHORES should still be allowed to be beauty queens, too!
Yet, when it's her turn to judge other people's marriages, she pulled the bible out of her FAT ASS and insisted on using standards from this piece of trash written by pervs some 2000 years ago and then BLAMED her hypocrisy on the way she was raised!
But hold on! Her hypocrisy wasn't the most amazing thing. It paled in comparison to the gullibility of some of the fags up here who failed to see this lil harlot for what she truly was -- a SORE LOSER, who BLAMED EVERYBODY else for her failure to measure up to the standards of miss USA. If she were truly good and pure like some of the fags up here insisted her to be, she would have recognized her being a runner up wasn't because of her hypocritical bigotry or how UGLY HER SOUL WAS. It probably had a lot do do with her FAKE BOOBS, her SLUTTY EYES or how TRAMPY her lips looked when she started to tell people how to live their lives even when the ways they live their lives have ZERO effect on her life or anyone else's!

>"She should have been judged on how well she articulated her answer, not for her personal opinion."
Yeah, as long as she's well spoken and "honest" it would be okay if she had said that she thinks marriage is between those of the same race. Sure.
Hey Jeffer, we know who the haters are - the pogrom pushers.
We never said xstain fundie bigots can't adopt, marry whom they wish, serve openly in the armed forces, be protected from arbitrary firing, and all the rest.

She shares your President's views ... and why is she demonized but your President a hero?
Agree with her or not - she is allowed to have an opinion - an opinion that, for the record, was solicited.
