Sarah Palin Resigns
Hold on to your tiaras: Miss California Carrie Prejean is keeping her crown. Donald Trump, who co-owns the Miss Universe Organization (parent of the Miss U.S.A. and Miss Universe pageants), made the announcement at a press conference in New York City this morning.
Prejean faced the possibility of losing her title after some sexy photos of her surfaced. The whole brouhaha over the pictures was ridiculous. In my opinion, they were no more scandalous than a Maxim magazine photo spread. Trump agreed.
Say you had to leave your kids in the care of a celebrity—yes, I know this is a ludicrous proposition, but play along with me! If you had to leave your kids with a celebrity, which star would you trust?
Choosy mothers chose Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia de Rossi in a poll conducted by ParentDish.com, AOL’s parenting site, and of the more than 10,000 moms that cast their votes, 31 percent voted for Ellen and Portia.
Ah, Joe the Plumber, the election ended in November and your candidate lost, but for some reason people still think your opinion matters. Why, I have no idea—oh wait, is it because you published a book and hired a PR agent? Why you're still being interviewed and people are quoting you is beyond me. The latest: Christianity Today.
In recent months, Perez Hilton has gone from gossip to gay rights crusader, and not everyone in the LGBT community wants him fighting for our rights.
I, for one, feel like he does us more harm than good. Case in point: After Miss California Carrie Prejean told him that marriage should be between a man and a woman, he went on the attack, expressing himself in less than eloquent fashion when he labeled her a "dumb bitch."
They say that a parent’s worst fear is surviving their child, and in my mind Estelle Getty, best known as Sophia on "The Golden Girls" left this world last summer satisfied that her longtime co-star (and daughter Dorothy on the show) Bea Arthur would be entertaining us for years to come.
But unfortunately only nine months after Getty’s passing, Arthur succumbed to cancer at the age of 86 early this morning, according to reports.
More news on the gay marriage front: Governor David Paterson, who has long been a supporter of gay rights, is going to introduce a bill tomorrow that would make same-sex marriage legal in New York.
This isn't the first time pro-gay marriage legislation has been considered in the state of New York. In fact, former Governor Eliot Spitzer backed a bill to legalize same-sex marriage in 2007. The State Assembly passed it, but the measure died in the State Senate because Republicans kept it from going up for a vote.

Why do people listen to -- and respect -- ThRush Limbaugh? The man is ridiculous. The only other person that makes my skin crawl listening to (other than our last president) is Ann Coulter. But last week, Limbaugh once again went too far. On his radio show, he commented on conservative-leaning UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown's genuine praise of Barack Obama during the G20 summit. Brown thanked Obama for helping change America's standing in the world and the global viewpoint of our country (following the bang-up job done by Bush). Brown said Obama has accomplished much in the first 70 days in office and was grateful for his leadership during this economic downturn.
Sasha Baron Cohen's upcoming comedy (or is it a documentary? A docu-comedy?) "Bruno" was slapped with an NC-17 rating after the Motion Picture Association of America's ratings review board deemed it showed too much. And that "too much" was Bruno supposedly simulating (or really having?) anal sex with another man, as well as showing the gay Austrian fashionista (apparently played with hilarious aplomb by Baron Cohen) sneaking naked into the tent of an unsuspecting non-actor during a hunting trip. The MPAA's board said the scenes were questionable and objectionable but if this were a straight character, would it have received the same scrutiny? There are plenty of movies where the characters are straight and the movie shows "questionable" sex scenes or plenty of violence and don't get an NC-17. So what's the sitch?
