Third-Grader Organizes Gay Equality Rally

Activists are getting younger and younger these days. Have you heard about Ethan? The Colorado third-grader recently organized a rally to promote marriage equality for gays and lesbians as well as equal protection under the law.

Yes, this little boy—with some help from his mom and a teacher—put together a rally for gay equality, getting the necessary permits, finding speakers and making the community aware of the event, which was held this past Saturday in Denver on the steps of Colorado's Capitol. Two hundred people attended. Not a bad turnout!

While Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper couldn't make it, he did issue a proclamation declaring May 16th "Marriage Equality and Equal Protection For All Day."

As for what inspired this little boy to speak out for gay rights, Ethan decided to hold the rally after he found out that a same-sex couple who lives in his neighborhood and has a child are not allowed to wed in Colorado.

You've got to love this kid. Check out this video of him speaking at the rally:

Stephen Colbert Parodies NOM's Anti-Gay Marriage Ad

Stephen Colbert's politically conservative alter ego came out against gay marriage during last night's installment of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, delivering a wonderfully ridiculous rant about the dangers of same-sex marriage before premiering his own anti-gay marriage video parodying the ad recently released by NOM (the National Organization for Marriage).

O'Reilly: American Idol's Kiss "Embarrassing"

Adam Lambert Bill O'Reilly Earlier this week, Bill O'Reilly dug up a weeks old "scandal" when he showed pictures of "American Idol" contestant Adam Lambert kissing another guy -- as if many people haven't yet seen these shots or that people will really care that he's gay instead of judging him on his talents as a singer. And why are they embarrassing? Because he's kissing a guy, who is apparently his boyfriend?

Asinine. If it were a straight contestant, male or female, kissing a member of the opposite sex, this would be a non-issue. And keep in mind they're just kissing. Not naked. Not trying to screw a horse. Just kissing.

Did "Bruno" Get NC-17 Because He's Gay?

Sasha Baron Cohen Bruno Sasha Baron Cohen's upcoming comedy (or is it a documentary? A docu-comedy?) "Bruno" was slapped with an NC-17 rating after the Motion Picture Association of America's ratings review board deemed it showed too much. And that "too much" was Bruno supposedly simulating (or really having?) anal sex with another man, as well as showing the gay Austrian fashionista (apparently played with hilarious aplomb by Baron Cohen) sneaking naked into the tent of an unsuspecting non-actor during a hunting trip. The MPAA's board said the scenes were questionable and objectionable but if this were a straight character, would it have received the same scrutiny? There are plenty of movies where the characters are straight and the movie shows "questionable" sex scenes or plenty of violence and don't get an NC-17. So what's the sitch?
